The name “Ratatosk” has its origin from a squirrel who delivered messages up and down Ygdrasil, the cosmic tree of Norse mythology. In similar fashion, although not running up and down a cosmic tree, the Ratatosk website aims to provide fun and useful information for the Nordic community in China, Scandinavians on their way to China, or people who are interested in China. At later stages the Ratatosk webpage will also be open to Chinese readers interested in the Nordic region.
The types of content featured on the website will consist of interviews and entertaining articles and comments from editiorial staff and corresspondents. Ratatosk has for instance provided pictures from the Norwegian national day celebrations. These can be viewed here. There will also be possible to download podcasts from the website. In addition useful information regarding life in China from embassies, chambers, and other Nordic organizations will be made available on the website. Ratatosk also aims to provide networking and community services; for example if someone is looking to organize a football team or to find a tango partner, the website will serve as a useful forum for organizing and searching for such activitites. And finally, Ratatosk is searching for more contributors to the website, and you can contact the Ratatosk webiste here for more information.
