Successful, moving Chinese-Norwegian musical exchange in The Great Hall of The People

The opera-musical "Some Sunny Night" by the young Norwegian composer/tenor Thomas Stanghelle was presented in The Great Hall of the People on October 16th. The moving story emphasizes the importance of friendship, perserverance and of pursuing one's dreams.

"Some Sunny Night" is based on the true story of Ketil Moe, the Norwegian "marathon-hero" with cystic fibrosis and his paraplegic Chinese friend Mark Wang, who was injured in an air crash at the age of 12, but later received a scholarship to study in Norway from HM Queen Sonja. Together, these two remarkable friends are proof that sometimes the impossible is possible. Directed by international acknowledged Daniel Bohr, "Some Sunny Night" features an ensemble of 30 Norwegian and 100 Chinese classical singers, musicians and well-known guest-artists.

The arrangement is part of a campaign "Attention for the Future Care of Children" by All-China Women's Federation, supported by UNESCO, Sunnaas Rehabilitation Hospital, United World College of Norway and Kinareiser.

The operamusical can also be seen in the Ningxia Congress Hall, Yinchuan City Tuesday 18th of October at 7 pm.
