The Norwegian movie "The Storm in My Heart" ("Jernanger") was nominated for the grand prix - the Golden Cup - in Shanghai International Film Festival, which ran from June 13th-21st. Three additional Norwegian movies and two shorts screened in the Panorama sidebar.

With 300.000 visitors every year, Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) is one of the biggest in Asia, and this year "Slumdog Millionaire"-director Danny Boyle lead the jury.

"The Storm in My Heart" took approximately 60,000 admissions on its domestic run and won the Silver Audience Award at Norway’s Tromsø Film Festival.

Screening in the Panorama sidebar were Erik Poppe’s "Troubled Water" ("De usynlige"), Eva Sørhaug’s "Cold Lunch" ("Lønsj") and Imtiaz Rolfsen’s "The Last Joint Venture" ("Den siste revejakta").

Also, two Norwegian shorts - Kajsa Næss’ "Deconstruction Workers" ("Bygningsarbeidere") and Julie Engaas’ "Sound Shadows" ("Lydskygger") - were included in the Chinese showcase.

Two Norwegian movies have previously received awards in SIFF; "Mendel", directed by Alexander Røsler, won the Special Jury Award in 1997, and in 1999, "The Prompter" ("Suffløsen") by Hilde Heier won the Silver Goblet.
