With the support of the on-going Sino-Norwegian Competence Building Project, a national training session on mercury monitoring technology was held in Beijing on December 28-29, 2010. The training was part of the bilateral cooperation on environment between China and Norway. Read more

The second meeting under the Sino-Norwegian Environmental Cooperation took place at San Ya, Hainan Province, 11. – 13. September. The bilateral cooperation was established in 1995, and renewed by a Memorandum of Understanding in 2008 following the establishment of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of China, MEP. Next year`s meeting will take place in Norway. Read more

The first bilateral seminar between China and Norway on Disaster Risk Reduction was arranged in Beijing 12-13 March. Prominent speakers from both countries as well as international organisations took part in the event. Read more

Tuesday 11 December Mr Svein Ole Sæther took up his post as Norway's new ambassador to the People's Republic of China. In March 2006 the first Chamber of Commerce covering all China was established in Oslo. T he Launching of NCCC was carried out by Tor Christian Hildan, Norway's Ambassador to China, and Sun Liwei, Economic & Commercial Counsellor at China's Embassy to Norway.   Read more

The Agreement on Maritime Transport between Norway and China was signed in Shanghai in December 2003. The Norwegian shipping industry is heavily involved in China , and the agreement   ensures better access to the Chinese markets and more preferable deals for Norwegian companies. Read more

Sunnaas Rehabilitation Hospital in Norway has been involved in a professional exchange programme with China Rehabilitation and Research Center since 1991. This week the leadership of Sunnaas is visiting Beijing to strengthen this cooperation programme. Norway and China extended a Cultural Cooperation Agreement 3 June. China’s Ambassador to Norway, H.E. Chen Naiqing and State Secretary of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry, Thorild Widvey signed the agreement in the Storting (Parliament). Read more

Norway and China signed a Fisheries Agreement 12 July 2001. The agreement aims to strengthen relations and foster broader cooperation between the two countries within the field of fisheries as well as to promote bilateral trade. State Secretary of the Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry, Mr. Oluf Ulseth and Chinese Vice Minister of Communications, Weng Mengyong signed a bilateral agreement of shipping 4 December in Shanghai, China. Read more

In 1963 Norway and China signed an Agreement on Cultural and Educational Cooperation – the first agreement of its kind between China and a Western country. Activities and cooperation in these fields have increased substantially in recent years. Read more
