The Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Jonas Gahr Støre visited the People's Republic of China 28 - 30 of January 2008.
The Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Jonas Gahr Støre payed an official visit to the People's Republic of China 28-30 January 2008. Minister Støre had meetings with the Chinese Foreign Minister Mr. Yang Jiechi and other representatives from the Chinese Government and society, as well as BOCOG President Mr. Liu Qi. A Climate Cooperation Framework Agreement between the two countries was signed by minister Støre and minister Xie Zhenhua from the National Development and Reform Commission.
The Norwegian Government attaches great importance to its relations with the Peoples Republic of China. The launching of “the Government’s China Strategy" in August 2007 and this first official visit of the Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs are both visible proofs of the Norwegian focus on China.
