If you intend to stay in Norway/Schengen for less than 90 days to visit family or friends, you are advised to apply for a short-term visa. Maximum period of stay is 90 days. The normal visa processing time is 10 working days. If the application is sent to the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration, the processing time may take up to six months or longer.
