Au Pair

The purpose of the au pair scheme is cultural exchange. As au pairs, young people can improve their language skills and knowledge of Norway and Norwegian society by living with a Norwegian family. In return, the au pair performs services such as light housework and child care for the host family.

Processing fee:
A case processing fee must be paid for all applications, whatever the outcome. The visa section advices all applicants to register their application, pay the fee and book an appointment in our application portal.

Who can be granted a residence permit as an au-pair?

Please be informed that in addition to the documents listed on UDI's website, Chinese applicants also need to enclose a copy of hukou with English translation on a seperate paper

Please note that for non-Chinese applicants applying in Hong Kong, applicants need to present valid Hong Kong work contract and ID card.
