A tourist visa issued by a Schengen country permits free movement within the Schengen area, unless otherwise stated on the visa sticker.
1. Competent Embassy or Consulate-General:
The Embassy or Consulate-General of the country of your main destination is the competent authority to deal with the application. If the main destination cannot be determined, the application should be made to the Embassy or Consulate-General of the country in which the longest visit shall be. If the visits in different Schengen countries are of equal length, the first destination shall be the determining factor.
2. Individual application:
Tourist visa for Norway can only be issued for group visitors and have to be applied for via a travel agency.
3. Required documents
All documents should be either in English or in Norwegian.
Note! The application should be handed in to the embassy in the following order:
- Passport, valid at least 90 days after expiry of the visa.
- Passport photo not older than six months (see left side of the page for photo requirements).
- Application form for Schengen visa duly completed.
- One ADS Group information form. This form has to be send to the Embassy or Consulate by email.
- A letter from the local travel agency containing:
a. name of tour guide
b. name list of all applicants
c. itinerary, including transfer route and means of transportation
d. duration of stay in the Schengen area as well as number of entries and the reasons for these.
- Flight reservation with confirmation of round trip from the airlines (list of names).
- Evidence of accommodation (hotel reservation) for the whole trip in the Schengen area, including the names of hotels and their telephone and fax numbers as well as duration of stay in different hotels.
- Copy of your passport (all relevant and used pages).
- A letter from the work unit or company (with address, telephone and fax of the employer, stamp and signature with name and position of the person who signed) stating:
a. position
b. salary
c. approval for leave
d. confirmation of working relationship after the trip abroad
- Business license of the work unit or company.
- Proof of financial means, i.e. bank statement.
- Hukou, with a photocopy of all the pages.
- A valid travel/health insurance for the duration of the stay in the Schengen Area with a minimum coverage of EURO 30.000. Original + one photocopy.
All the above-mentioned documents should be presented in original.
The Embassy may call you back for additional documents/information or interview.
After the travel, boarding pass and passport must be presented to the Embassy/Consulate of Norway via your travel agency within 48 hours.
