The delegation consisted of several leading energy companies such as Sinovel, Guodian, Longyuan and Guohua, as well as members from the Chinese energy authorities. The delegation was lead by Mr. Li Junfeng, Deputy Director of the Energy Research Institute of the NDRC (National Development and Reform Commission).
The visit coincided with a seminar on offshore wind in Bergen 15th and 16th March, jointly organised by the Norwegian Consulate General in Guangzhou, WWF and Innovation Norway. The seminar marked the first step in linking Norway and China as potential future partners in delivering offshore wind solutions.
“With Norway’s experience offshore and China’s plans to develop offshore wind domestically and internationally, this link is sure to prove fruitful for both countries”, says consul general Tormod C. Endresen at the Norwegian Consulate General in Guangzhou.
A second step will take place in Shanghai 7th to 9th of June when Norway is co-organising Offshore Wind China 2010 – the most important conference in the field of offshore wind in China this year. Apart from a two-day programme of presentations covering all aspects of the sector, this conference also includes an exhibition area where Norway will have a national pavilion.
