A workshop covering the most sought after aspects of technical training will take place in Beijing October 18-20.
The workshop will deal with some of the challenges facing the development of offshore wind in China seen from a technological perspective. The programme is based on a recent survey among Chinese companies concerning which areas of technical training they are most interested in. Central companies within offshore wind power in China were among the respondents.
The workshop will cover the following 5 topics, all with a case study focus:
- Overall planning, operation and maintenance (cost and quality control)
- Offshore turbines – reliability, cost, design and durability (typhoon)
- Installation vessels – design, transportation, lifting and installation
- Wind farm infrastructure and grid connection (high voltage)
- Wind resource assessment and siting – feasibility
The speakers are representatives from DNV, Vestas, Nexans Norway, Germanischer Lloyd, National Development and Reform Commission, China Longyuan Power Group and Sinovel.
The workshop is jointly hosted by the Norwegian Consulate General in Guangzhou and the China Renewable Energy Society. China Renewable Energy Industry Association and Beijing Jikedian Renewable Energy Development Centre are co-organizers. It will be held at the Electric Design Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing.
