Twelve Years of Successful Offshore Co-operation

This summer Statoil ended its operatorship of the oil field Lufeng 22-1 in the South China Sea. Lufeng was Statoil’s first overseas operatorship and turned out a success story, both in terms of production, safety and emissions. The finalization of the project was marked at a "mission completion"-ceremony in Shenzhen November 26 2009.

Norwegian company Seadrill delivers state of the art oilrig to China

In October 2008, Seadrill supplied the drilling rig West Hercules to the Liwan oilfield in Southern China, exploring the deep waters there for oil and natural gas that the future development of Southern China relies on.

Norwegian oil production through 35 years

Twenty billion barrels of oil have been pumped up from the Norwegian continental shelf since production started in June 1971. It all began at the Ekofisk field, which in 2006 is Norway's most productive oil and gas field and a national cultural heritage monument.
