Nordic Industrial Park (NIP) Grand Opening

07/05/2009 // Nordic Industrial Park (NIP) offers small and medium-sized companies from various fields an easy entry into China. Recently it invited customers, suppliers, business associates and representatives from the public sector and business communities in Scandinavia and Ningbo to a grand opening celebrating that construction phase II is in the process of completion.

Founded in 2002, NIP was one of the first wholly foreign owned industrial parks in China. It offers services to a wide range of companies such as purchasing, sales, consultancy, engineering, assembly and production. The main focus is on technically complex industries, but they also offer solutions for companies wishing to start out with a simple representative office or sourcing services. 35 Scandinavian companies are already in place at NIP and more are on the way.

Coinciding with the completion of construction phase II, NIP is expanding its business concept to include turnkey solutions for contractors, service businesses and trading companies, with special focus on innovative, future-oriented technology.

- We are doing this in close cooperation with local authorities, technological environments
and contractors to optimise the synergies and the possibilities. Our new concept focuses on engineering services, innovation, entrepreneurship and collaboration between Nordic and local high-tech businesses, says Ove Nodland, Chairman of the Board and General Manager.

NIP’s total net land area is 350,000 square meters, and by mid-2010 they are planning to be fully developed with a floor area totaling 175,000 square meters of assembly, production and office facilities.

- The situation we are currently experiencing requires an innovative approach, now more than ever. Declining sales and excess costs create enormous challenges. For this reason, we have adapted the professional content to focus on the great many opportunities provided by setting up a business in China, says Nodland.

Parts of the event was held together with Aarbakke Group, which is organising an opening ceremony for its new factory at NIP.
