Norwegian Business Association Annual General Meeting

05/03/2010 // On March 2 the Norwegian Business Association (NBA) in Shanghai held its Annual General Meeting. Results from the previous year were presented, and most importantly, new board members were elected.

After five consecutive years as Chairman, Mr. Espen Lund resigned and passed forward the responsibility to the new Chairman of NBA Mr. Geir Sviggum from Wikborg, Rein & Co. Mr. Ulf Eriksen was elected Vice Chairman. The new board now consists of Geir Sviggum, Ulf Eriksen, Bjørn Eldar Pedersen, Bjørn Naglestad, Tone Cecilie Moen, Ole Nustad and Vidar Andersen.

For the occasion, Consul General Mr. Fred Harald Nomme from Norwegian Consulate General Shanghai held a briefing on the challenges and opportunities Sino-Norwegian bilateral relations are facing in 2010. Mr. Nomme stressed the importance of concluding the free trade agreement with China that is currently under negotiations. Norway can be the first European country to sign such an agreement with China, something that would expand the Sino-Norwegian economic relations and increase market access for Norwegian goods and services in China.

Norwegian Business Association in Shanghai is an active forum for Norwegian companies and business people where they can exchange experience and draw knowledge about business-related issues in China and in the Shanghai region in particular.
