Norwegian hi-fi sets the tone in China

13/01/2012 // High-end audio product manufacturer, Electrocompaniet, make all their products in the small Norwegian town of Tau, but that does not mean their presence is unheard of in China.

Established in 1973, Electrocompaniet makes hi-fi products intended for people with the belief that music really matters. And apparently, more and more Chinese share that belief. This week the company was awarded the Rogaland County’s Innovation Price for their sustained effort in bringing high quality Norwegian products to new markets. Their success and large customer base in China was hailed as one of the reasons as to why Electrocompaniet in recent years have succeeded as a world-recognized brand name.

The Norwegian Consulate General in Guangzhou has actively promoted the company’s high-end products to potential Chinese customers through marketing events. In collaboration with the Danish Consulate General, a Hi-End Audio Event was held in Guangzhou last month to market and promote Scandinavian high-end audio products. In this process, the Consulate is happy to see a growing interest in the Chinese market for Electrocompaniet’s renowned sound quality, modern design and user-friendly products.

Since 2004, Electrocompaniet has completely revitalized their brand and been at the forefront of creating new products in line with the changes seen in people’s ways of buying and listening to music. Expansion to new markets has been an important part, and their products are now sold in more than 50 countries. And sure enough, the company is seeing its greatest growth in China.
