Oslo School of Architecture and Design comes to the Center Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing to show their exhibition “Generator”.
Opening Friday
"I'm very happy to be here, and I have great expectations for our further cooperation" says Karl Otto Ellefsen, the principal of the Oslo School of Architecture and Design. Friday he opened the exhibition "Generator" alongside Lu Pinjing, Dean at CAFA Architecture, and the Norwegian ambassador Svein O. Sæther.

The generator
A large piece of cloth is suspended across the room, with a vague motif that calls for reflection and personal interpertation. A screen shows photos of Norwegian students' "generators", which they defined as the ideas of the architectural projects, before it has turned into spesific architecture. The exhibiton also includes a book with both pictures and texts, where teacher Lisbeth Funck writes this about the project's intention: "The generator is a final product in itself as well as a stage in an ongoing process. It offers a break, to reflect upon and to see, not only sense, the physical manifestation of the inspirational source."

Exchange
This week the OSAD teachers will have a workshop with CAFA students, and the exchange continues this spring when the Chinese students will come to Oslo. Teacher Per Olaf Fjeld is enthusiastic: "I got to know Lu Jinping last year, and it's wonderful that we have made this happen. So many excting things are happening in China right now, also in an architectural perspective we see "the new" versus "the old" being an important discussion."
The "Generator" exhibition will last until Friday 9.26.
