Nils Gaup is once again back with a story from the Sami community. His first feature film, “The Pathfinder” (Veiviseren) which was nominated for an Academy Award in 1987, was based on a Sami legend. He was in Rouen himself to receive the audience reward, like he did at the Nordic film festival in Lübeck, Germany November 2008. The film, which has been seen by 350.000 Norwegians, has so far gotten a warm welcome also from its international audience.
”Cold Lunch”, which was launched internationally as the opening film at the International Critics' Week in Venice 2008, have the last nine months competed in festivals all over the world.
The Nordic Film Festival in Rouen was organised for the 22nd time, and this year 18 Norwegian films have been screen in the different categories.
