I Love Salmon Campaign

09/02/2010 // The Norwegian Seafood Export Council (NSEC), launched a month-long online “I Love Salmon” Chinese New-Year and Valentines’ Day campaign in partnership with renren.com, China’s largest online social networking site which is similar to Facebook.

The campaign encourages people to celebrate Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day, which fall on the same day this year, by sending virtual kisses and greetings to their relatives and friends. The campaign positions Norwegian salmon as the “Fish of Love” and the best gift to give loved ones during this double holiday season of love and family unity. The campaign also aims to educate consumers about the numerous positive health benefits of Norwegian salmon, including the beneficial effects that it has on the heart, brain and skin. Consumers who participate in the “I Love Salmon” campaign will have the opportunity to win valuable prizes, including plane tickets to Shanghai and entrance tickets to the World Expo 2010. At the Shanghai Expo they will be able to sample innovative Norwegian seafood recipes at the Norwegian Seafood Restaurant inside the Norwegian Pavilion. Other prizes include NSEC backpacks and lunch boxes, Norwegian salmon cookbooks.
