Shanghai recently had the pleasure of welcoming the Monsters from the Dunderly universe to town. The Norwegian cartoon series was first published in Chinese by Tsinghua University Publishing House in 2013. The stories about the monsters from Dunderly tells tales of trust, friendship and encouragement and have been enjoyed by Chinese kids ever since. Last weekend, the author and illustrators behind the success story visited Shanghai to partake in a couple of workshops for the Chinese audience.
The successful events were held at Shanghai library as well as at LIFE HUB @ Daning in connection with the Nordic Design and Innovation Week. The workshops began by telling the young audience a story from the Dunderly universe, and even let the kids help design and name their own monster (the children at the NDIW workshop named their monster Jessie). To finish up, the team behind the cartoon series showed the kids a short animation movie starring the friendly monsters. The kids were spellbound!

If you missed out on the workshops, there is no need to despair, because you can still meet the team behind the success story this week at Shanghai Children’s Book Fair, Saturday the 19th from 10-11 at the Tsinghua's stand.
