120 Days at Black Rabbit Festival

Last updated: 07/09/2011 // Their music has been described as ‘darkly stylish, yet indisputably hypnotic and danceable’, and has been acclaimed by critics. In September 2011 they come to the Black Rabbit Festival in Beijing and Shanghai.

Childhood friends Jonas Dahl, Arne Kvalvik, Kjetil Ovesen, and Ådne Meisfjord originally formed the band in their hometown Kristiansund, Norway under the name ’The Beautiful People’ in 2001. When they moved to Oslo a year later they reinvented and re-launched themselves as 120 Days.

The new location and fresh name helped to facilitate the band’s shift in musical style from pop to something best described as electro-rock. Their new sound—with influences from bands like Kraftwerk, Primal Scream, and Pink Floyd—gained 120 Days a rather large fan following amongst the Oslo club scene.

The self-titled debut album, released in 2006, received widespread acclaim from critics. Spin magazine claimed that “120 Days can make any room feel like it's on the brink of explosion. It is awe-inspiring.”

They have now toured all over the world and have previously played at events like Carling Weekend in the UK in 2005. In 2007, NME awarded the band the number two spot on its list of the best bands at Austin’s South by Southwest music festival.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to be awed!
