Just after Norway ’s Constitution Day, China will play host to the Norwegian jazz band “Motif” . They are themselves describing their music as “ a fuse between jazz, free and organized, with early rock influences and an open mind is the keywords”.
Just after Norway’s Constitution Day, China will play host to the Norwegian jazz band “Motif” . They are themselves describing their music as “a fuse between jazz, free and organized, with early rock influences and an open mind is the keywords”.
Motif first performed in China in 2005, while their drummer, Hakon Johanssen, has been back in the country multiple times with his other project, Excess Luggage. Motif has received an invitation to perform at Beijing’s Nine Gates Jazz Festival, which will take place at the Forbidden City Concert Hall from May 22-27. Prior to their appearance at Nine Gates, the band has been invited to Singapore.
Following their performance, the group will head to China’s south for three performances:
Thursday May 28: Guangzhou, C:Union
Friday May 29: Hong Kong, Fringe Club
Saturday May 30: Shenzhen, C:Union
