Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo

Last updated: 07/02/2011 // Oslo will host the Nordic World Ski Championships, February 23 through March 6, 2011. Athletes and spectators can look forward to a memorable week in Holmenkollen, with a new ski jump at the center of it all.

Holmenkollen

For the 2011 World Championships the famous Holmenkollen Ski Jump has been rebuilt. The new ski jump has a modern design that complies with today’s international requirements, while keeping the previous jump's unique profile. In March 2010, the new arena was inaugurated when Holmenkollen hosted a FIS Word Cup event.

Join the celebration

Skiing has always had a special place in the hearts of Norwegian people. For more than a hundred years great skiing events in Holmenkollen have drawn thousands of people. Enthusiastic spectators have cheered the skiers on from the arena or along the tracks in the forest.

The organizers expect at least 300,000 spectators for the championships. In addition to the skiing events there will be concerts and celebrations both in Holmenkollen and in the city center.
