Chinese-Norwegian play in the Olympic Village

09/12/2008 // To celebrate the Paralympic Games, the Chinese artist group China Disabled People's Performing Art Troupe invites everyone to a Chinese-Norwegian play in the Olympic Village, Sunday September 7th.

The name of the play is "My Dream V", and it includes the opera musical "Angel of Life", composed by the Norwegian Thomas Stanghelle. This is the story of when Queen Sonja invited disabled Mark Wang to come study in Norway, where he met Ketil Moe. Moe was famous for running 14 New York Marathons even though he had cystic fibrosis. Mark and Ketil did great things for disabled people in both Norway and China, and perhaps their greatest achievement was to open the first Beijing Marathon for the disabled.

Mark continued the work on his own after Ketil’s death. He is now an official torch bearer in the Olympics and Paralympics, not to mention a great role model for China’s 80 million disabled people. Thomas Stanghelle will play the role of Ketil Moe, while the roles of Queen Sonja and Mark Wang is played by Chinese actors.

The performance takes place at The Flag Raising Square, Olympic Village, Sunday September 7th at 18 o’clock (the time may be altered).
