Cosmic Wind at Expo

Last updated: 06/09/2010 // The Cosmic Wind concert is the result of a cultural collaboration project that aims to gather people with different ethnic, cultural and artistic background to work and create together. The project also aims to spread multicultural aspects from the Norwegian music stage to a Chinese audience.

The collaboration project will be featuring Norwegian artists performing Chinese music, while Chinese musicians will be performing Norwegian pieces. This will symbolise the possibilities for cooperation between Norway and China, despite cultural and linguistically differences.

Among the participating artist in this collaboration project are the Norwegian group Poing, which previously have toured extensively in China. The group have presented Chinese and Norwegian traditional and modern music, and cooperated with Chinese artists. Moreover, the artist Wind (Øyvind Aamot) will participate to the project with Song poetry and verses by the Norwegian poet Olav H. Hauge. Other participating artists in ‘Cosmic Wind’ are Kouame Sereba, Bian Niu Lian, Fang Jin Long and Wu Fei.

‘Cosmic Wind’ is the result of collaboration between Innovation Norway, Cosmic Wind Productions, China-Norway Culture Promotions and the production department of Shanghai Youth Symphony Orchestra.

The artists from ‘Cosmic Wind’ will play before ‘The Moon’ on the European Stage at the Expo site on the 8th of October.
