Norwegian Pavilion roof topping ceremony

09/12/2009 // On the second of December, the Expo 2010 Norwegian Pavilion roof topping ceremony was successfully held, mixing both Norwegian and Chinese elements. After a Norwegian garland was hoisted, one of the beams in the pavilion was blessed Chinese style.

The roof topping ceremony was held at the site of the Norwegian pavilion and about 300 guests and 40 local media participated in the ceremony. Guests included representatives from Norwegian companies in Shanghai, representatives from the EXPO bureau and various friends of Norway.

The main purpose of the ceremony was to express gratitude to the Chinese construction workers and partners for the 7 months of hard work they have done at the Norwegian Pavilion. During the ceremony the guests did not only experienced Norwegian traditional music, but also tasted delicious Norwegian salmon delivered by the Norwegian Seafood Council and prepared by the Furset Group. The Furset group is a well know group in Norway and they will run the restaurant at the Norwegian pavilion next year.
