The first tree on the Norwegian pavillion put in place

Last updated: 16/09/2009 // The first of the 15 trees which will contstitute the main pillars of the Norwegian pavillion at the 2010 world Expo has been erected.

The work was done by local construction workers, while representatives from Moelven Limtre AS, which has produced the trees, were present at the sidelines.  Everything went according to plan.

-This feels really good, says architect and engineer Vibeke Skaiaa of Norway at Expo.
-It is nice to finally start seeing the result of what we have been working on and planned for more than year.

One of the architects of Helen & Hard, the firm that designed the Norwegian pavillion, Siv Helleland, is also content. – It strikes me now, when I see the tree erected like this, how different and unique this is in comparison to the steelconstructions surrounding us.

Roughly 30 chinese construction workers are working on the Norwegian site, and the pavillion will be completed by the end of the year.
