The winner of the competition was announced in Oslo on Friday 15th of August, by Minister of Trade and Industry, Mrs. Sylvia Brustad. The winning theme is created by Helen & Hard, Melvaer & Lien and Sweco Groener.
The Norwegian pavilion will be an arena for experiences and education closely connected to sustainable development. Sustainability will be emphasised through materials, the use of resources and energy efficiency.
"Through our participation at EXPO 2010 we want to create a meeting place for politics, trade and industry, and develop our relations with China as a trading partner," said Mrs. Brustad.
China has experienced an enormous economic growth for the past 30 years and is Norway's largest trading partner in Asia. Shanghai is an important junction for Norwegian trade and investment. EXPO 2010 is therefore an important event and a very interesting opportunity for Norwegian trade and investment.
"It will give us a unique chance to promote Norway in China as well as the rest of the world. Norway's participation at EXPO 2010 will be an important element in our China strategy," said Mrs. Sylvia Brustad.
Expo 2010 will take place in Shanghai from 1st of May until 31st of October 2010 and the theme for the event is “Better City, Better Life”.
