From Norwegian Lion to Chinese Dragon

"How to tackle the financial crisis and the climate crisis and some perspectives on Sino-Norwegian relations" - this was the title of a presentation Consul General Tormod C. Endresen given to students and faculty members at the South China University of Technology (SCUT) 22 April.

The presentation highlighted effects of climate change, including on the melting of the Arctic and Himalaya ice caps, the need for firm committments at the upcoming Copenhagen summit on climate change, and how Sino-Norwegian political and technological co-operation can help alleviate its consequences.

"It is important to engage with the young, educated Chinese, they hold the key to China's future and developments that will affect the whole world." says Consul General Endresen. "I am looking forward to our discussion of what is clearly the greatest challenge of our times, the issue of climate change."
