The Norwegian students were primarily studying Chinese language and culture, but also students in martial art, international relations and Chinese politics and society took part in the gathering. This year’s event was also joined by the new class from Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) studying Norwegian language and culture.
The importance of students with international experience and foreign language knowledge was underlined by Ambassador Svein Sæther, Minister Nils Gunneng and Science Councellor Kari Kveseth. China, the world’s second largest economy, will be of great importance to Norway in the years to come. Therefore students with this kind of knowledge will be of a great value to Norway and The Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Norwegian class from BFSU has only studied Norwegian for three months, but they impressed everyone with their new Norwegian skills. As one of the highlights of the evening, the students preformed a song both in Norwegian and Chinese.
