The pioneers` graduation party

Last updated: 13/06/2011 // After four years of hard work, 14 students from Beijing Foreign Studies University will graduate in June 2011. The hopeful group of fourteen and their two teachers are about to successfully complete one of BFSU’s most pioneering programs for the first time this year. The subject? Norwegian language.

On 1 June, Norway’s Ambassador to China Svein Ole Sæther held a reception at the Embassy to celebrate the upcoming graduation of the students and their teacher Bård Sandvei. In his speech, Ambassador Sæther thanked the leadership from BFSU and the dedicated teachers for making the first Norwegian language program a success. He also emphasized this program’s importance in building long-term relations between Norway and China.

Student representatives also thanked the Norwegian Embassy for its support to the students during their study. Before the reception, students were invited to participate in an informal lecture given by Jinsong Gao, General Director of DNV Healthcare (China). In his lecture, Jinsong Gao shared with the students his views of Norwegian business culture from a Chinese perspective. He also gave the students some suggestions and advice on their career development in the future.

The students were encouraged to register as members of the NorAlumni China network. More information about NorAlumni China: http://www.noralumni.no/china/home
