On September 15, Mrs. Kari Kveseth, Counsellor of Science and Higher Education at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Beijing, visited the new students at BFSU. She encouraged them to work hard and emphasized the importance of this program in building up the long-term relations between Norway and China.
The Chinese students show great interest in linking up with Norwegian students who are currently studying in Beijing to practice their Norwegian and to learn more about the culture, history and politics of Norway. Therefore, Mrs. Kveseth welcomed them to join the NorAlumni China network which was created in September 2010 in Shanghai, as a communication and networking platform for Chinese students studying/studied in Norway and Norwegian students studying/studied in China.
The second group of students will go through intensive training in Norwegian language during the next four years. Apart from the language itself, they will also attend courses related to the culture, history and politics of Norway, currently taught by former Chinese diplomats to Norway.
