Norwegian students in Shanghai to learn about entrepreneurship

17/04/2009 // Given its reputation of being the dynamic power house of China’s economic growth, Shanghai is no doubt a suitable place for the 22 students from Norwegian School of Entrepreneurship (Gründerskolen) who recently arrived in the Chinese metropolis to do internships for 16 local companies.

The Norwegian School of Entrepreneurship is a joint project between all the Universities and several University Colleges in Norway. It provides students with theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship, combining introductory course work in Norway with a three month internship abroad. This year, 22 out of a total of 150 students are doing the latter part in Shanghai.

The 22 students currently present in Shanghai have all gone through job interviews and will be working for high growth high tech local enterprises until the end of May. They will get practical experience in how to run newly established and innovative businesses in general, and at the same time they will certainly learn a thing or two about the differences between Chinese and Norwegian business culture.

The Norwegian School of Entrepreneurship is coordinated centrally by the University of Oslo. In Shanghai, the program is jointly organised by Innovation Norway Shanghai and BI School of Management.
