CG Shanghai Newsletter June 2010Dear all, May has been a very exciting month here in Shanghai! After years of preparation, Shanghai World Expo finally opened its doors to visitors from all over the world. Norwegian Pavilion Day on May 28 proved to be a great success, and was celebrated with an amazing cultural program and visits from HRH Crown Prince Haakon of Norway and several Norwegian ministers. June also offers many exciting cultural events - Royal Norwegian Consulate General in Shanghai is happy to inform you of upcoming happenings that might be of interest! Five Norwegian features have been selected for the 13th Shanghai International Film Festival that will be held between June 12-20. Do not miss the Norwegian contributions which are in the category family films. Norwegian painter Pernille Leggat Ramfelt will from June 10-19 participate in the joint exhibition Henji at Sanhe Museum in Hangzhou. This fusion of numerous types of artistic expressions is something not to be missed! The exhibition New Nordic landscapes will be held between the 1st of June and 15th of August at the Nordic Lighthouse in Shanghai. The themes are biodiversity in an urban context, interaction between infrastructure and landscape and process urbanism. Also please do not forget Klubb Norge's Norwegian Lunch at Coffee Tree on Thursday June 10 at 11:30. A great place for networking! This year’s Norwegian National Day Celebration was held on May 15 at Cypress Hotel. A big thank you to everyone who contributed to make this a memorable day! The new Nordic Center building at Fudan University’s main campus was officially opened on May 26. The inauguration also coincided with its 15th anniversary. The Consulate General will be closed on June 16 (Dragon Boat Festival).
