CG Shanghai Newsletter November 2011Dear all, It is already mid-November and the merry month of December is knocking on our door. As you make plans to enjoy cold evenings inside with friends and family, there is also much to do out and about in the city. This year the Nordic Documentary Film Festival, NORDOX, will make its first appearance in Shanghai, featuring a wide range of full length documentaries from all Nordic countries. The film festival will even be accompanied by a Nordic photo exhibition at M50. In November, the Third Annual Norwegian Seafood Dinner was co hosted by the Norwegian Consulate General and the Norwegian Business Association (NBA) in Shanghai. The distinguished guests of the evening were treated to an extensive buffet of all Norwegian seafood. Even live king crabs had found their way from the cold waters of Norway to the sizzling pans of renowned Norwegian Chef, Øystein Næsheim. To view the highlights of this magnificent evening, please have a look at the article below. On the business end of things, a new study exploring the commercial and strategic opportunities in China’s LNG sector reveals that Norwegian companies are well positioned to support Chinese companies in the rapidly developing LNG industry. The full study, which is a co-investment by the Norwegian Embassy and Consulates General in China, as well as Innovation Norway China and DNV, will be presented at a seminar taking place in Shanghai on the 28th of November. Please also note that new requirements for supporting documents for short-stay visas to Norway/Schengen will be implemented by the Norwegian Foreign Missions in china starting from 1st of December 2011. We would like to wish you all an eventful November!
