Consulate General Shanghai - Newsletter JanuaryDear All, The first month of the year has come to an end, and the days are getting longer. January started off with the winter sport event ‘Ridderrennet’ in Changchun on Jan. 1, which was a very cold but also a very rewarding experience. On January 11th, The Minister of Trade and Industry Mr. Trond Giske made a visit to Shanghai, Yangzhou and Beijing where he amongst other things met the mayor of Shanghai, inspected several Norwegian companies, and participated in a seminar on Corporate Social Responsibilty. The month is now coming to a close, and Chinese New Year is soon upon us, followed by even longer and warmer days. The Consulate General will be closed a few days during the spring festival. To follow Norway at Expo, please find more information at Klubb Norge has had its annual general meeting and Maren Alvseike has been elected for chairman of the board this year. There are new members on the board as well, and it looks like 2010 is going to be an exciting year: February 5th- Friday night meeting at Bricco Cafe, Klubb Norge will introduce the new board and committees for this year’s arrangements. There will also be a review of last year’s arrangements and the board will let you all take part in deciding what this years arrangements should contain. You are all very welcome to join! The Norwegian’s meetings are informal get-togethers for friends of Norway he first Friday of the month throughout the whole year. A great place for networking!
