His comprehensive programme included briefings on the Norwegian government's China strategy, meetings with the MFA and MOFCOM in Beijing, meetings with Norwegian business representatives and of discussions with embassy and consulate staff.

He also had discussions with Mr. Zhang Kening, Director General in the Ministry of Commerce. Mr. Grydeland also had a chance to tour the National Centre for Performing Arts, where Mozart’s “Magic Flute” will be performed in November as a cooperation between the Norwegian National Opera, the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) and Opera Hong Kong.
Havyard designIn Guangzhou, the Secretary General visited Yuexin Shipyard, which currently is building two advanced supply vessels designed by the Norwegian company Havyard, a part of the Havila group. The purpose of the visit to the yard was to learn about at modern Sino-Norwegian industrial partnership in the maritime sector, a kind of partnership encouraged by the Norwegian Embassy and Consulates General.
