Liv Arnesen’s rich life experiences, both on and off the ice, have made her an internationally recognized leader and role model for women and girls. In 1998, she, together with Ann Bancroft, set up the Bancroft Arnesen Explore foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for cross-cultural collaboration among youths
Ann Bancroft is one of the world’s preeminent polar explorers and an internationally recognized leader who is dedicated to inspiring women, girls and audiences around the world to unleash the power of their dreams. She is also founder and co-founder respectively of the Ann Bancroft foundation and Bancroft Arnesen Explore foundation.
Jan-Gunnar Winther is an experienced polar explorer and leading Norwegian expert on the Arctic Council and the Antarctic Treaty. Winther holds a number of international appointments, including as lead author on the UN Climate Panel, member of the World Economic Forum, and China Council for Cooperation on Environment and Development.
“On Thin Ice” In 2015, The Norwegian Polar Institute sent a research vessel into the Arctic to measure the extent of climate change. The research vessel “Lance” froze into the ice at 83 degrees north and drifted with the ice for six month. The results along with stunning photos from the expedition will be on display at the seminar.
