The month of February was most notably marked by the Norwegian government reiterating its firm stance in the issues of gender equality and women’s health, vowing to increasing its support for family planning and safe abortions by NOK 85 million compared to 2016.
As part of a long-standing cultural agreement with China, the Norwegian Research Council will now accept applications for a state scholarship. The scholarship will be awarded to 10 Norwegian students and researchers from all areas who wish to study at a higher educational institution in China. The application deadline is 1 April.
The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Beijing has announced a vacancy for the position of Consular affairs employee, and is currently accepting applications. In addition, the Embassy as well as our Royal Norwegian Consulates in Shanghai and Guangzhou are currently accepting internship applications for the autumn of 2017. The deadline for both of the applications is 10 March.
As spring slowly sets in, so does our excitement about the embassy’s events in the upcoming month. 5 March marks the opening the Norwegian-Chinese art exhibition “Accessing the Memory”. And 17 to 26 of March there will be a Nordic film festival at the Danish Cultural Center. Stay tuned!
