In June, a Virtual Reality Media event was held at Hao Space in Beijing in order to promote travelling to Norway, co-organised by VisitNorway and the Royal Norwegian Embassy. There, representatives of Chinese travel media got the opportunity to experience various tourist attractions in Norway through virtual reality glasses provided by Condé Nast’s Traveler magazine.
In Mongolia, the Summit of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) will be held in Ulaanbaatar on July 15-16, with the objective to improve relations between Asia and Europe. This year’s Meeting will mark the 20th Anniversary of ASEM. Bjørn Jahnsen, a media adviser seconded by Norway, has been assisting Mongolia in the preparations, while the Norwegian Foreign Minister Børge Brende will lead the Norwegian delegation to the Meeting.
We would also like to highlight the Sino-Norwegian collaboration in agriculture, where Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research (NIBIO) has taken part in several research projects with Chinese partners such as Heilongjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences (HAAS) and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science (CAAS)
This month, we also had the welcome news of the ceasefire between the Government and FARC-EP in Colombia in the peace talks that was supported by, among others, Norway.
Also we would like to remind everyone that on July 9-10 the static theatre performance Those that have been left behind, directed by Norway-based Wang Jingyi, will be shown at the Penghao Theater in Beijing as part of the avant-garde theatre festival Beijing NLGX Art Festival.
Cecilia Chen (Ting Chen), a renowned independent photographer will open her photo exhibition entitled “Norway, Into the Arctic” on July 9 at Canon Image Center (Beijing). The exhibition will run until July 26.
