Last updated: 30.07.2014 //
The 2014 Human Development Report (HDR) was released by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on 24 July in Tokyo. This year’s HDR presents HDI values for 187 countries, and Norway ranks the top.
The Human Development Index (HDI) is a composite statistic of life expectancy, education, and per-capita income used to rank countries into four tiers of human development. The current report shows the top five countries ranked in terms of the HDI are Norway, Australia, Switzerland, Netherlands and the US. Norway has been ranking first in HDI since year 2009.
