Social Policy Forum on Hainan

Last updated: 06/12/2011 // The 7th Sino-Norwegian Social Policy Forum will be held in Haikou, Hainan, 10 – 11 December 2011.

The annual conference is jointly organized by China Institute for Reform and Development (CIRD) and the Norwegian Institute for Urban and Regional Research (NIBR), with support from the Norwegian Embassy in Beijing. The conference gathers around 200 researchers, development policy experts and government officials.

This year’s conference will focus on consumption driven growth and income distribution in China. The aim of the conference is to give central Chinese and Norwegian actors the opportunity to share experiences, identify challenges and improve decision-making.

A central element in the Norwegian Government’s China strategy is to promote cooperation and dialogue between China and Norway on social welfare policies and the equitable distribution of social goods.
